Heidi brings 20 years of experience in estate planning to her practice. She began her career as an estate planning paralegal, where she earned her Certified Paralegal credential and assisted clients with the preparation and execution of estate planning documents. She also managed the firm's Estate Planning Document Review Program. Through this work, Heidi gained firsthand insight into the consequences of inadequate planning, which shaped her focus on helping clients establish sound, lasting estate plans.
This experience led Heidi to pursue a legal career. She earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston and is licensed to practice law in Texas.
During law school, Heidi clerked for several estate planning firms and the Harris County Probate Court. She also worked in the Tax Clinic, representing low-income taxpayers, and served as managing editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law.
Heidi's commitment to the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at South Texas continued throughout law school and after graduation. In that role, she took the lead in preparing a case for U.S. Tax Court and successfully represented the client at trial as a student attorney. She now represents clients in Tax Court and before the IRS in tax controversy matters.
Heidi's practice includes drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and guardianship documents. Her experience ranges from basic estate plans to more complex matters, such as asset protection and tax planning for high-net-worth clients.
