Legacy Planning is a more holistic approach to estate planning and business planning. We help clients preserve their financial wealth and their legacy, including their life stories and family heirlooms, for future generations. Our non-traditional planning methods include special provisions and protections in Living Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Irrevocable Trusts, Asset Protection for business owners, and Charitable Gifting Strategies.
Your initial consultation with us is complimentary. We also believe in upfront pricing, so you won’t be “nickel-and-dimed” on the billable hour for legal planning. Instead, we will give you a flat fee so that you know the price before choosing to move forward. In everything we do, our goal is to provide clarity and maximum value to you.
The number one complaint filed against attorneys is failure to communicate. At Weelborg Law, we strive to have superior customer service. We want our clients to know that they are of upmost importance to us, every phone call and email is important to us.
Heidi has 14 years of experience in Estate Planning. She began her career as an Estate Planning Paralegal. As a Certified Paralegal, she assisted clients in the signing and preparation of estate planning documents. As well as, she managed the law firm's Estate Planning Document Review Program. While working with clients, Heidi saw how poor planning devastated families. This is where she developed her passion for helping clients create a lasting legacy for their families.
It was this passion that drove Heidi to decide to attend law school. She obtained her degree from South Texas College of Law, Houston. She is currently licensed to practice law in Texas.
During law school, she clerked for several estate planning law firms, the Harris County Probate Court, and worked in the Tax Clinic, assisting low income taxpayers. She was also the managing editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law.
As a student, Heidi continued to volunteer pro bono in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic at South Texas after the course was over and even after she graduated. During her volunteer time, she took the lead role in preparing a U.S. Tax Court for trial and successfully represented the client in court as a student attorney. In addition to representing clients in Tax Court, Heidi is experienced in representing clients before the IRS in tax controversies.
Heidi also has experience in drafting estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, power of attorneys, and guardianship documents. She is experienced in drafting basic estate plans as well as more complex planning, such as asset protection and tax planning for high net worth clients.
